Thanks to an outpouring support, for three years PTPI’s Global Landmine Initiative sponsored a demining team in Sri Lanka. Met with success, efforts shifted to Cambodia, with a demining team in place along the Thai border.
PTPI joined with the United States Department of State Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement – Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, along with 70 other NGOs to make landmines a priority. Mine action partners work effectively to clear minefields, increase awareness, assist survivors and develop new demining technology.
PTPI’s joint efforts with The HALO Trust continue through the generosity of members and friends around the globe. Our 3-step program includes eradication, education and aftercare. Success requires the involvement of government, private organizations and concerned individuals working together toward one vision: achieving a mine-safe world.
Through PTPI’s International Friendship Fund (IFF), 100% of donations designated for landmine efforts go to the Global Landmine Initiative.
