PTPI's 2009 Global Youth Forum
November 11-15, 2009 - Washington, D.C.


You are invited to join PTPI’s President and CEO, Mary Jean Eisenhower, in America's Capitol for the 2009 Global Youth Forum!  In D.C., you will spend four exciting days exploring PTPI’s mission of Peace through Understanding, and how it specifically relates to this year’s theme, Global Sustainability:  It's All Connected!  Come to the GYF to learn how you can work together with friends from around the world to create a better, brighter and greener future!

250 students will converge on the Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia (DC Metro Area) from November 11-15, 2009 for this eye-opening conference.  We hope that you will join us for this prestigious event as we more deeply explore PTPI’s mission through the lenses of international understanding, education, leadership and humanitarianism! 

Highlights of this event will include:

• A key-note address and intimate break-out session presented by PTPI’s President and CEO, Mary Jean Eisenhower!
• An interactive student panel, featuring your peers from across the globe!
• Take an active part in sustaining Washington, D.C. through a service project benefiting the Anacostia Watershed!
• A unique tour of Washington, D.C. - we promise that you have never seen D.C. this way before!
• An opportunity to reunite with old friends and make new ones from around the World!


PTPI is providing a full scholarship to those who apply and get accepted to the GYF International Student Panel. (More information about this scholarship is below)


2009 People to People International Global Youth Forum
International Student Panel Scholarship

What is the Panel?

The International Student Panel at the GYF will serve as a forum for students of diverse backgrounds and cultures to share and dialogue about their experiences within their home country.  Each participant will be provided with a list of pre-planned questions to prepare prior to their arrival at the GYF, though there will also be an unscripted question and answer time that will occur between the panel participants and the entire GYF delegation.

Students selected to sit on the panel will receive a full tuition scholarship to the 2009 GYF in Washington, D.C. USA that will cover their lodging, food and activities beginning November 11, 2009 and ending on November 15, 2009.  The scholarship will also include the price of roundtrip airfare between the students’ hometown and Reagan National Airport (DCA). Costs of visas, Unaccompanied Minor fees or passport fees are not included.

Qualifications for Consideration:

-16 – 18 years of age during the time of the Conference
-Excellent communication skills
-High degree of fluency in the English language
-Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
-Knowledge of world affairs
-Active within their community
-Commitment to and belief in the mission of People to People International

Based on the strength of your application, you will be contacted by PTPI World Headquarters for a phone interview between July1 – 7, 2009.   By July 14th, you will be notified of our decision.

Students selected to participate on the panel will receive a full tuition scholarship to the 2009 GYF in Washington, D.C. USA!  The scholarship covers the cost of lodging, food and all activities during the GYF.

PTPI will also pay for round trip airfare between the student’s home town and Washington, D.C.. Cost of passports, visas and unaccompanied minor fees is not included.
