Mary Eisenhower greeting delegates during 2008 Middle East/Africa Regional Conference
It is a pleasure to be announcing the 2009 Middle East and Africa Regional Conference that will be held from June 26 – July 1, 2009 in Izmir, Turkey.
PTPI members from the region and around the world are encouraged to apply for this yearly event. Last year, it was great to greet the conference participants in the first Middle East/Africa regional conference, the activities reported and seeing the members was inspirational.
This year we have another great program for you to be able to meet your peers from around the world, learn about Turkey, and attend sessions that will help you grow on the personal level as well as work/study level. You will get the chance to attend chapter presentations by our active members around the Middle East and Africa. You will also be able to share your activities, future plans, and aspirations for better communities.

From the conference sessions; you will be able to learn how to foster team identity and develop a spirit of collaboration, you will be trained on how to measure your success through clear performance indicators, become familiar with very practical and hands-on techniques that help you establish and grow your PTPI chapter, learn about PTPI programs and initiatives around the world and how you can help, and last but not least, you will be provided a Tool Kit containing planning templates, task lists, and other important documents for your development.
Here’s wishing you every success for a meaningful and rewarding conference. May you take the friends you already know and the friends you meet home with you after the conference and may they be in your heart forever.
Your Partner in Peace,
Mary Jean Eisenhower
President and Chief Executive Officer
